Terry Bellamy takes 76% of mayoral vote, city council newcomers top incumbents
Mayor faces Edwards in general election
Mayoral candidate and newcomer Robert Edwards will run against incumbent Terry Bellamy in the general election to be held Tues., Nov. 2009. Early general election voting is Oct. 15 to Oct. 31, 2009.
Three newcomers top two incumbents
Bothwell, Smith, Manheimer, Miller, Mumpower, Jackson make cut
City council candidates and newcomers Cecil Bothwell, Gordon Smith and Esther Manheimer outclassed councilmember incumbents Kelly Miller and Carl Mumpower in the primary.
Only 11 percent of voters turned out to vote.
