Downtown 9/11 Musical Event by Sister Cities Asheville Sister Cities Hosts Downtown Musical Events on Sept. 11 Asheville Sister Cities is joining communities around the world for the "Day of the World in Harmony" musical celebration on September 11. Asheville Sister Cities is hosting music events at the Asheville Area Chamber of Commerce and the Grove Arcade to commemorate the 9/11 anniversary and spread a message of peace throughout the world. The Rev. John Brewster, accompanied by Yannich Brewster, Kate Steinbeck and Amy Brucksch, will play at the Asheville Area Chamber of Commerce at 2 p.m. The Grove Arcade will feature Appalachian folk music performed by Warren Wilson College musicians at 4 p.m. The goal of the program is to bring people together to celebrate life and global humanity through the universal language of music. The public is invited to join the free musical celebration at both locations.
