PURSUIT GROUP FORMING PREVIOUS UPDATE Posted July 30, 2008 Downtown Master Plan Public Meetings Conclude, Consultants Work Towards Final Recommendations *CONSULTANTS CONGRATULATE CITIZENS FOR THEIR INPUT, Citizens Applaud Goody Clancy Consultants for Work Well Done | Goody Clancy's lead consultant David Dixon, along with Mary Means and other members of the city-hired consulting team, received citizen input throughout a series of public meetings on July 28 and 29, 2008. The consultants presented a number of their findings and initial recommendations to approximately 200 citizens who attended the public meeting held on Tues., July 29 from 6 to 9 p.m. in the Asheville Civic Center's second-floor banquet room. The consultants presented studied comments backed with charts and slides. The details of Asheville's new Downtown Master Plan become more evident. Goody Clancy will consolidate public comments and make its analysis and recommendations over the coming weeks. The final report will be presented to the community and Asheville City Council in September. After additional comments, revisions and community consensus, city council will then vote to implement the new downtown master plan. |
