New Buncombe Chair and Commissioners Installed
*TWO NEW COUNTY COMMISSIONERS INSTALLED YESTERDAY lead by new chairman David Gannt | David Gantt, previously a commissioner, was installed on Dec. 1, 2008, as the new Buncombe County chairman, along with newly elected commissioners Holly Jones and K. Ray Bailey, who will join re-elected commissioners Bill Stanley, who is serving his sixth term, and Carol Peterson, who is serving her second term. On Nov. 4, 2008, Gantt, a local lawyer, defeated former chairman Nathan Ramsey, a Fairview dairyman.
