*THE APPOINTMENT OF THE NEW CITY COUNCIL MEMBER will be announced today at the regularly scheduled Asheville City Council monthly meeting, which is open to the public | Holly Jones' seat on the Asheville City Council became available when she won her bid and was recently installed as one of five Buncombe County commissioners. The Asheville City Council is reviewing applications that were submitted by Weds., Nov. 26, and will make a decision by Dec. 9, 2008.
