CHAMBER MUSIC CONCERT at St. Mathias Jan. 4, 2009

There will be a concert of Viennese waltzes and polkas by a 34-piece chamber orchestra on Sun., Jan. 4, 2009 at 3 p.m. at St. Matthias Church in Asheville.

The program will include music by Strauss, Lehar and Brahms conducted by Bertil van Boer. Soprano Laurel Fisher will sing two arias.

There will also be exhibition ballroom dancers.

DONATIONS ACCEPTED
There is no fixed charge for the concert, but donations will be accepted for the restoration of the beautiful and historic church. St. Matthias' Church is over 100 years old and is on the national historic register.

DIRECTIONS
The church is located in Asheville just off South Charlotte Street at Max > Street on the hill across from the Asheville Public Works Building (1 Dundee St.).
