48 Hour Film Project

The Best $5 Spent This Week: Screening the Films

Asheville's 48 Hour Film Project filmmakers had "a great weekend," wrote MK Harrison, organizer of the 2009 shoots in the Asheville area.

Now comes the affordable fun for the audiences: Asheville Pizza & Brewery on Merrimon Ave. in north Asheville will host the screenings of this year's local films from June 23 through 25. Best of all it's only $5 per screening, the entertainment deal of the week.

This is it!  We are quiet on the set and ready for ACTION!
 
I have permission to accept a couple of last-minute teams this year!

Sign up today online http://www.48hourfilm.com/asheville - please remember, 1st come, 1st served. If you decide to join the fun on your way home from work... all you have to do is show up tonight at Asheville Pizza & Brewery with your team and cash. If there are still slots available, we will be ready to roll.
 
We will be meeting in the GAME ROOM at Asheville Pizza & Brewery on Merrimon at 6 p.m. tonight. I will be there about 5:30 - so come early, if you like!
 
For the newbies (and that includes me!): You will draw your genre and learn the "must haves" a few minutes before 7 p.m. I will release you to the world right before 7! No one gets a head start!
 
Tickets are $5/each and will be available tonight for next week's screenings. After tonight, they will be in the hands of Asheville Pizza & Brewery.
 
98.1 FM will be airing spots promoting the screenings starting Sunday.
 
For those of you hoping to join a team tonight, please come!  Introduce yourself to the teams and if they don't have a spot for you this year - you will have made great contacts. Plus - we are going to cheer them out the door!
