The two giants of health care in Asheville and the Western North Carolina region have finally come to their senses and joined hands and jumped over the broom again: Effective Dec. 15, 2017, BCBS of NC, the largest health insurer in the state, is now back in-network with Mission Health, the largest hospital and provider of health care in Western North Carolina.

It took two months for the two "kids" who took their respective balls home with them on Oct. 5, 2017, to regain their economic senses (i.e., become adults again), as well as rediscover their sense of duty to serve the very people who pay them to take care of their health, and in some cases, their very lives — not to mention their financial well-being.
