E. coli breakout, do not eat romaine lettuce, throw it away, warns CDC | People are getting sick eating contaminated romaine lettuce in many states. On April 20, 2018, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) posted the warning to tell Americans to stop eating all types of romaine until the problem is resolved. Tip: If you have any romaine lettuce, throw it away, even if you have not yet gotten sick from it, advices CDC.gov: More>


UPDATE: Deadly news of 2017-2018 influenza (flu) season in North Carolina: 386 dead this season | News Flash: Yes, you can get the flu twice in one year, because there are different strains of the flu. The season's flu season runs from October through May. As of Mar. 13, 2018, the total death toll of this season (Oct. 1, 2017 to now) in North Carolina was 276; as of Mar. 20, 2018, the total was 305; as of Mar. 30, 2018, the total was 342. Currently, as of May 23, 2018, the total flu deaths in North Carolina starting Oct. 1, 2017, to now is 386, which includes three more flu deaths  reported between May 6 to 12, 2018. Beware. Be safe.
